Bermont Fellowship in Fiction or Nonfiction 2022-2023

By Alicia Ortiz Alba

To our creative Undergraduate Full-time Students,

The eleventh annual Master Class for the Bermont Fellowship in Fiction or Nonfiction has been announced, and it will take place from April 2nd to the 3rd, 2023.

This year’s Distinguished Visiting Writer will be Calvin Baker, author of four acclaimed novels, including Naming The World, Dominion, and Once Two Heroes. Baker’s most recent non-fiction book (2020) is A More Perfect Reunion: Race, Integration, and The Future of America

The Bermont Fellowship, endowed by an RWU alumnus, provides students with a unique and valuable writing experience that supports their professional development. Fellows will have the opportunity to attend an intensive seminar or master class with a distinguished guest writer.

The Fellowship is offered on a competitive basis to a select group of full-time undergraduate students at Roger Williams University—from any discipline or major. Fellows will be chosen in a blind submission process and will be selected based on the merits of their submitted work.

Applications are due no later than Friday, December 2nd, 2022. Please submit entries electronically to Cynthia Jones, Assistant to the Dean of University Library Services, at cjones@rwu.edu.
