Tania Acosta – Most Promising Multicultural Student

By Alicia Ortiz Alba

Voices is thrilled to spotlight Tania Acosta (she/her), a senior from Roger Williams University with a major in Marketing and a minor in Creative Writing.

Earlier this year, Tania was accepted into the American Advertising Federation’s Most Promising Multicultural Students Program (MPMS). This program connects the advertising industry with the nation’s top multicultural college seniors, providing invaluable opportunities for networking, mentorship, and industry immersion through agency visits. Tania had the opportunity to attend various events and workshops during the week of February 4th – 9th, 2024 in New York City!

Her major in Marketing has taught her a great deal about the advertising industry and has helped her grow as a person every day. Nevertheless, Tania spoke on how her Creative Writing minor helped through the application process: “I used my creative writing skills to portray my story and knowledge of the advertising industry through my essays. The way I used language and expressed my personal narrative was a large consideration factor in being selected for the program.” The way Tania was able to communicate with industry professionals throughout the week was a direct representation of how she took the experiences written on her resume and applied them during networking events. “Overall, my creative writing skills allowed me to leverage storytelling, communication, and networking skills during the MPMS program.”

We could not be prouder of Tania for her recent accomplishments. We wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors and cannot wait to hear more about her successes!
